Snowmen

Why?

Do you ever wonder why,

We don't see snowmen in July?

I'd love to splash around and swim,

And float in the water along with them.

We wondered "why"...

so, we asked this essential question:

How can we change solid water (ice) into liquid water?

introducing matter

We began to talk about matter today.

We looked specifically at water.

We found water in 3 forms:

*solid

*liquid

*gas

The children worked with a partner to prepare a poster and a brief (very brief!!!) talk about what they learned.

As usual, I am blown away with what the kids can do.   Their minds amaze me...such really good thinkers!
